MegaMatcher Accelerator 7.2 Extended, Standard and Development Edition software licenses are available for new and existing MegaMatcher Extended SDK customers.

MegaMatcher On Card SDK

Smart card multi-biometrics
MegaMatcher On Card SDK offers matching-on-card technology that stores a person’s fingerprint, iris and face templates on a smart card and performs template matching in a microprocessor embedded in the card, instead of matching biometric information on a PC processor. This method ensures that personal biometric information does not transfer to an external computer as it would in a more basic template-on-card system.
MegaMatcher On Card SDK is developed utilizing a set of ISO/IEC standards to enable interoperability with and easy integration into existing smart card and/or biometric systems.

New!

MegaMatcher 9.0

We would like to inform about the release of the MegaMatcher 9.0 line of biometric software development kits. The release includes:

♦ New VeriLook 9.0 facial recognition algorithm. The algorithm provides five times higher accuracy in identifying full frontal faces and 10 to 15 times higher accuracy for unconstrained facial recognition, which makes it suitable for conducting automated facial image searches in large databases without the need for manual review. The faster face detection and more accurate estimation of facial attributes, including gender, smile, closed eyes, open mouth, glasses and dark glasses are also included. The algorithm is also included in MegaMatcher 9.0 SDK and MegaMatcher Accelerator 9.0.
♦ New Face Verification component for easy integration into secure authentication applications such as mobile banking is included in the VeriLook 9.0 SDK and MegaMatcher 9.0 SDK.
♦ Enhanced VeriEye 9.0 iris algorithm. The algorithm improves extraction speed and iris segmentation quality. Also, it can accurately detect eyelids and can be used to locate irises in images that are captured in both the near-infrared range and in visible light, even with regular smartphones. The iris image quality estimation is adapted to the newer ISO/IEC 29794-6:2015 standard. The algorithm is also included in MegaMatcher 9.0 SDK and MegaMatcher Accelerator 9.0.
♦ The VeriFinger 9.0 and VeriSpeak 9.0 SDKs feature general SDK updates.
♦ The unified version numbering for the biometric SDKs is introduced to provide customers with more clear understanding and usage of different Neurotechnology biometric products. The MegaMatcher family biometric products, including the single biometrics SDKs, now have the same version number as the MegaMatcher 9.0 SDK.

As with all Neurotechnology products, the latest versions are available as free upgrade for existing customers.

Fingerprint SDKs

Fingerprint biometrics

About fingerprint identification
Human fingerprints are unique to each person and can be regarded as a sort of signature, certifying the person’s identity. Because no two fingerprints are exactly alike, the process of identifying a fingerprint involves comparing the ridges and impressions on one fingerprint to those of another.
This first involves capturing the likeness of the fingerprint, either through use of a fingerprint scanner (which takes a digital picture of a live fingerprint), scanning a pre-existing paper-based fingerprint image or by pulling what is known as a “latent fingerprint” from a crime scene or other place of investigation, from which a digital image is created.
Once the fingerprint image is captured, the process of identification involves the use of complex algorithms (mathematical equations) to compare the specific features of that fingerprint to the specific features of one or more fingerprint images that have been previously stored in a database.

Face SDKs

Free Fingerprint Verification SDK

Overview
Free Fingerprint Verification software development kit is a freeware SDK designed for adding fingerprint verification functionality into various applications. The SDK is most suitable for developing biometric logon applications, but it can be used also for any other application that do not require to store more than 10 fingerprints.
The Free Fingerprint Verification SDK functionality is based on a simplified version of VeriFinger algorithm. The SDK allows reading fingerprints from scanners and performing fingerprint verification (1:1 matching) only. Quality control can be applied to accept only good quality fingerprints from fingerprint scanners.
The Free Fingerprint Verifications SDK supports Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7 operating systems for 32-bit processors.

Face biometrics

About face identification
Currently there are many methods of biometric identification: fingerprint, eye iris, retina, voice, face etc. Each of these methods has certain advantages and disadvantages which must be considered in developing biometric systems, such as: system reliability, price, flexibility, necessity of physical contact with the scanning device and many others. Selecting a certain biometric identification method or using a multi-biometric system can help to support these often discrepant requirements.
Face recognition can be an important alternative for selecting and developing an optimal biometric system. Its advantage is that it does not require physical contact with an image capture device (camera). A face identification system does not require any advanced hardware, as it can be used with existing image capture devices (webcams, security cameras etc.).
Thus, facial recognition should be considered as a serious alternative in the development of biometric or multi-biometric systems.
