Imatest Image Sensor (IS) combines the features of Master with the ability to directly load images from image sensors and cameras, cutting out several steps in the testing process. Selected features include:

Imatest Industrial Testing (IT)

Imatest Industrial Testing (IT) enables rapid production line testing and optimal quality control in manufacturing environments. Imatest IT software allows for the integration of key Imatest Master and Image Sensor (IS) module functionality into your custom testing programs. Manage multiple suppliers using one unbiased testing algorithm and catch issues earlier in your supply chain. Selected features include:
•    Define required quality levels for a camera with Pass/Fail specifications
•    Analysis of the new ISO 12233:2014 Edge SFR chart
•    Analysis of SFRplus, Random/Spilled Coins, Wedge, Log-F Contrast and Siemens Star Targets
•    New operator console, an open source user interface for factory testing

IT Specifications:
Imatest IT includes an Application Programming Interface (API) that contains two different types of interfaces: DLL and EXE. Both interfaces have the same functionality as the corresponding modules in Imatest Master and IS but operate without user intervention, making them suitable for integration with automated systems.
Although IT operates independently of Imatest Master, it is strongly recommended that IT users have at least one Master installation on site to support the process of defining execution parameters and default settings.

Imatest Industrial Testing Parallel (IT-P)

The new Imatest Industrial Testing Parallel (IT-P) edition uses parallel processing to improve the throughput of Imatest IT and maximize the image processing power of your computing hardware. IT-P enables up to 3x more throughput to support test equipment that requires a high volume of images to be analyzed. IT-P improves the PPH (parts per hour) on assembly lines. Selected features include:
• Even Field Test to measure color and illumination uniformity and detect blemishes and defective pixels on the sensor

IT-P Specifications
Imatest IT-P includes an Application Programming Interface (API) that contains two different types of interfaces: DLL and EXE. Both interfaces have the same functionality as the corresponding modules in Imatest Master and IS but operate without user intervention, making them suitable for integration with automated systems.
DLL allows for parallel processing and includes a Visual Studio C++ project that demonstrates how to perform parallel processing. IT-P includes the EXE interface, however, it does not support parallel processing.
Although IT-P operates independently of Imatest Master, it is strongly recommended that IT-P users have at least one Master installation on site to support the process of defining execution parameters and default settings.

Support Renewals:
All Imatest licenses include Support that expires one year from the date of purchase. By renewing your Support annually, you are eligible to download all updates released within that time period, keeping you current on the latest product enhancements, bug fixes, and customer feature requests. We release over 40 updates each year which can be seen in the Change Log.
Extending Support before the expiration date allows you to take advantage of significant cost savings.

Software Upgrades:
Upgrade your Imatest Master license to Image Sensor or Imatest IT to IT-P by simply paying the difference between the two licenses. Save money and access enhanced versions of Imatest software by upgrading your license.

SFRplus Chrome on Glass

Chrome on Glass charts are uni­tone, have 10:1 contrast and do not include a step­chart
(meaning that they do not support the calculation of tonal response curves). The star pattern is
used strictly for a focusing aid and is not intended as a testing feature (i.e., as a star chart).

Available sizes:​  ​ Charts are mounted on a 2 x 2 inches (50.8 x 50.8mm) substrate that is 0.059"
(1.5mm) thick.

SFRreg Charts

The SFRreg test target consists of a slanted­edge quadrant pattern enclosed within a circle. It is
used for measuring MTF and lateral chromatic aberration. A test image typically contains
several targets that are automatically detected and analyzed by the ​ SFRreg module.

SFRreg targets can be placed at arbitrary positions and angles to accommodate a wide variety
of test cases:

● Long distance tests​  where conventional charts would be impractically long

​● Ultra­wide Field of View tests ​ (>180) where a flat target cannot reach the outer field

● Autofocus tests​  where a single frame can contain several targets placed at different
distances.

eSFR ISO Charts

All Imatest ​ ISO 12233:2014​  E­SFR charts are fully compliant with the ISO Low Contrast Edge
SFR test chart standard. eSFR ISO charts available in three versions:

● Standard​ : basic, no extra measurement features, inkjet prints.
● Enhanced​ : extra squares, wedges and color patterns when printed with technologies
that allow color. Inkjet and photographic print options.
● Extended​ : similar to Enhanced, but with a 16:9 aspect ratio, suitable for HDTV and
cinema, inkjet prints.
Available sizes:​  0.5 x 0.5 cm to 110 x 182 cm (5 x 5mm to 1100 x 1820 mm)
Available Substrates:​  Matte, Semigloss, Backlit Media (DisplayTrans), Photographic Paper,
B&W or Color LVT Film, and Chrome on Glass for high precision needs.

Texture Charts

Imatest texture charts measure texture sharpness and come in color and black and white.
The “Dead Leaves” chart was the first chart to test a camera’s ability to reproduce texture.
Imatest has improved upon this with our “Spilled Coins” chart, which is perfectly scale invariant,
producing reliable and consistent test results.

Available sizes:
● Matte and Semigloss: about 10 x 14 ­ 17 x 22 inches (254 x 355.6 ­ 431.8 x 558.8 mm)
● LVT Film: about 8 x 10 inches (203.2 x 254 mm)

Rez Checker Charts

The ​ Rez Checker’s​  high precision reflective printing process enables precise resolution
measurements. Fine detail is 13x sharper than in Inkjet prints and twice as sharp as black and
white film.

The slanted edges can be used to reliably measure SFR or MTF out to 3000 dots­per­inch or 60
cy/mm with the appropriate software. Five, line visual hyperbolic wedges are also included to
aid in the visual assessment of limiting resolution to 850 dpi.

The patches are mounted on aircraft grade anodized aluminum and are set below the top
surface to help protect from damage.

Available Size:​  ​ Height: 1­7/8”   Width: 1­5/8”  Thickness: 0.060” (47.625 x 41.275 x 1.524 mm)

Available Substrates:
Gloss:​  Gray patches have an extended dynamic range (density ~ 2.4) and are suitable for
measuring camera imager noise. Specular reflections from the gloss surface may occur for
illumination geometries less than 45°/0° when used without crossed polarizers.

Matte:​  Gray patches have a lower dynamic range (density ~ 1.6) but are more suited to narrow
illumination geometries such as those used in endoscopic imaging or with direct on­camera
flash units. Because the matte surface can be interpreted as imager noise, we do not
recommend using matte gray patch targets for evaluating imager noise in high magnification
applications.

Infrared Targets

Imatest’s specialized Infrared targets support testing in short to medium wavelengths (1.4­8
microns) and long wavelengths (8­15 microns). Imatest’s standard, inkjet­printed test charts
work in near­infrared wavelengths up to 1.4 microns. The targets produce adequate contrast to
effectively test a range of infrared camera systems.

These test charts include high resolution slanted­edges that can measure sharpness variations
across the entire image sensor. The targets support analysis of other key IR image quality
factors, including noise and distortion.

Available Sizes:​  ​ 61 x 91 cm (2 x 3 feet). MWIR target also available in 91 x 122 cm (3 x 4 feet).
Larger sizes are available upon request.

Infrared: Imatest Software and Targets

These two targets are constructed differently and use unique materials in order to measure their
respective IR wavelengths.

The MWIR target is produced using a silk­screened SFRplus print on an aluminum sheet.
Contrast is produced due to the difference in emissivity between the different paints.

The LWIR target has a heated aluminum back­plane. Insulated spacers help float the cooler
plasma­cut SFRplus aluminum front plane. The target is painted in a powder­coated matte to
diffuse specular reflections. Temperature difference between front and back planes produce
contrast in the LWIR target.
